With regards to her birthday, today IS her official birthday. As stated before it is usually a Saturday in June and moveable. This year it was moved to today to be in line with the jubilee.

You're thinking of her actual birthday, which is 21 April. Her official birthday is moveable, and this year, has been moved to today.
Proud to be British. We really should have events like this more often - i.e why we need a national bank holiday such as st georges day etc.
