With regards to her birthday, today IS her official birthday. As stated before it is usually a Saturday in June and moveable. This year it was moved to today to be in line with the jubilee.

Missed the beginning but saw the last half. Thoroughly.enjoyed it and the use of projection on the palace was fantastic. For once I felt quite proud to be British

This year her official birthday is being celebrated on the 16th. That'll be when we'll see the trooping of the colour, and the birthday honours list will come out.

Proud to be British. We really should have events like this more often - i.e why we need a national bank holiday such as st georges day etc.
