Got some ram with heatspreaders on it and i want to remove the heat spreaders as the PC i am building needs ram without them so that the PSU fits properly, itx case.

Is it ok to remove?

Yes i have the ram ready to use in a Mini itx build i am about to do when i buy all the bits and bobs

That would depend on how the heat spreaders are attached.

Some (most?) use a thermal tape and they're quite easy to remove.

I don't know about current RAM but certainly some in the past have used a thermal adhesive which makes the heat spreader much more difficult to remove and you can end up pulling the RAM chips off the circuit board.

Perhaps if you told us what this specific RAM is?

They fit better as the itx Pico PSU is able to fit without bending back slightly. That extra width is important
