Obviously I can't sell my phones in the MM (my preferred gadget offloading method) and since I get nervous selling anything on ebay these days I was wondering if AV Forums was any good?

Ideally it would be like the MM but able to sell phones. Any advice?

I sold a phone on AVF, my old HD2, had no problems at all. However, unless you have some feed back on there it will be less likely to sell. AV forums, like here and anywhere else, has its fair share of scammers. Just make sure you read the rules and guide lines first. They're more strict than here but there to protect you.

AVF is well regulated but keep everything in the thread. If you're not a member yet expect to be asked to post first and PM's aren't activated by default, you need to request it.

Ironic you posted this, I was looking through the Faq's to see if I could sell a mobile phone in MM but found nothing, so you answered that one for me ;)

Why does MM not allow the sale of mobile phones though?

You need to look at the MM rules to see all stuff related to what is and what isn't allowed.

Phones aren't permitted in the MM because there's been too many issues in the past.

Long time member of AV Forums and XDA Developers, mainly for reading though.

They're a lot tighter with rules on there than we are in the MM, be warned :p

That scares me. The rules here have caught me out a few times even with the best of intentions!

1. Signature slightly too big.
2. Only inserting asterisks for the middle two letters of the word ****.
3. Admitting to asking a question about using Royal Mail for delivery by email instead of in thread.

Ok thanks I will see what I can find in there, and thats fair enough if there have been problems in the past.

I sold phone bits on AVF before, most recently for the S2 as well. Was rather painless and after having it on ebay for days without even a watcher, it sold on AVF within hours!

Yep, I know about that, but I'm hoping it's worth more selling to people rather than recycling. In all honesty though I think it'd have to be worth a lot more before I'd consider the upgrade.

Well that's why I started this thread really. I've sold a few phones on ebay and I reckon I'd only get around the same amount as a recycler after all the fees.
