SWTOR going Ltd F2P

To be honest, it's trying to get more people back on it as everyone who didn't get the greatest game ever made ragequit, and they're trying to tempt them back as the game's finally what it should have been at launch.

Don't delude yourself, people quit because it just wasn't much fun, and it still isn't. The engine is still ****, the level design is still atrocious, the legacy system is completely useless, customisation is still non-existent, and my jedi can still stab herself in the neck with a lightsaber.

One thing many people seem to forget is Warhammer Online done this exact thing (level capped unlimited time free play) and still has its full subscription model, they just done the F2P trial thing a lot later than this.

Fairly certain that as long as Warhammer never goes full F2P, SWTOR won't either.

I dont know how much they spent on warhammer, but given what they spent on swtor this seems more desperate than a bump in the sub model. Im trying not to be negative, but nothing positive has struck me about swtor after i got my light sabre.

I got to lvl 25 on my Trooper, and give up. It was just like wow for me, and I hated the lvling in both games. So I went back to my pally on wow then give that up to :P

Isn't warhammer ran by the same company now? If so, cant really compare swtor to it very well.

a lot of people wanted to stick around and for star wars to be a fantastic mmo. I cant see it getting the people who quit back onboard.
I read earlier that this is just a sign for things to come and it will be fully f2p, i have to agree with that somewhat but its ea so they have the finances to bankroll it for a while. F2p is like an admission that its a flop and with the huge a budget it cost to make, they wont want that.

Thats the exact reason we can compare it with swtor, if EA haven't shut down or completely switched to F2P for Warhammer then they aren't very likely to do it with swtor. WAR has never been a huge success and amusingly had the same issue soon after release that swtor is suffering: too many launch servers.

I guess there,s 2 ways to look at it.
I personally think ea wont admit defeat on anything and just carry on ploughing cash into to it in order to keep it afloat.
I.ve been wishing for warhammer to go f2p for ages so i can see how that game has changed since launch.

15 level free trail is a good way to get peeps playing but would it not be wise to bring this out after they get server transfers sorted out

I might check it out when the free trial comes along, I've never played any MMORPGs (aside from 5mins on GuildWars) but I do like the KOTOR series. Free trials may not tempt old players back but it is what is required to tempt me into the genre.

Worst game engine ever used for a MMORPG

Clueless Devs.

Worst support / CS for an MMOPRG.

My sub runs out in 12 days, been playing since Beta Dec 2011, game has so many flaws and performance issues still, and its been 6 months since release. I wont pay for being a Beta tester any more.
