From last month. Had lots of fun trying to catch and/or stick with a couple of cars with ~30hp more than mine. Not easy and I had a lot of help from the traffic, but wow I love that GP circuit and it was such a blast :D

Did nearly fall off at Paddock Hill though :o

What camera are you using - the picture is really good!

no you didn't :)

Bit too close for my liking at that corner, would've been an off had it not been for a swift dab-of-oppo :p

The forward camera I'm using this year is the new MiniDVR HD kit from Dog Cam Sport - and it's bloody excellent so far, although the sound is much better when I don't have the mic muted... doh!

Cheers all :)

Crazy not having brake lights, how did it pass scruitineering without them? Or was it a race car only day? I noticed most, if not all the cars had cages and livery. Nice driving though, brands hatch is bloody awesome, i can't wait to go back. What bhp/tonne is your 7, 250-300?

Yeah it does make it a bit tricky, as you can see it nearly caught me out once but to be honest I've nobody to blame but myself for that. It's easy to get suckered in and focus too much on the car you're chasing instead of keeping a better awareness of everything coming up. Something I need to work on.

It was a track day rather than race/test day, but it's organised by the Lotus 7 Club in conjunction with MSV, and the only requirements for us 7 drivers are either a full cage or an FIA approved roll bar. A certain level of ability is assumed (it's not for novices). So you do get a few racers coming along to get some practice in which is fine in my book. The thing I had a problem with was the huge speed differentials at times; coming up to cars with 30-40mph more speed at the braking point makes you think!

Bloody awesome circuit though, definitely my favourite at the moment. It's all the little bumps and surface changes and the close proximity of the barriers out the back. It's all seat of the pants, knife edge stuff. Suits the car really well though, near perfect gearing and stiff but not too stiff. Tricky in the damp though - I was finding the Indy section stayed wet for far longer where as the GP section dried out quite quickly on line. In a later session I was having to adjust the brake bias rear-ward for Paddock Hill and Druids, then back forward again for the GP section. Until it fried my brain and I forgot to move it for Druids and promptly out-braked myself and had to use the new run-off area!

I'm only running about 270-280hp/tn at the moment so I have to make the most of it. The sweet little 1600 K-series just wants to rev and rev and rev, it's a brilliant little package :)
