E3 2012 - June 5th to 7th

Who exactly was expecting new consoles next year?? lol

2014\2015, I can honestly see both being on the market in 2015. One of the companies will try and get a running start with a Xmas 2014 release.

Obviously 100% speculation on my part though :p

Everyone sensible.
This is the 7th year of the Xbox 360.
Can't say dated enough.

I also feel Wii U hasn't made even a slight dent into hardcore gamers market. 2D mario games along with all that dance **** just don't cut it when competing in today's 3D era where things that matters are HD graphics, big open environments, lots of intense fast paced action requiring quick strategies, good storyline + dialogues, amazing ambient sound effects etc etc)

Some of us do like the simpler games from time to time. I enjoy the old 2D platformers, and other puzzle and indie games.

They don't all have to be about, the biggest, prettiest, highest poly count games. We should be able to enjoy the other things in life too.

Gaming would be boring if it was just 3D FPS's all the time. You play one, you played them all.

E3 has been all about 1st/3rd person shooters. Talk about over saturation. As a gamer I dont need guts and gore to play which seems to be peoples numer one priority these days.

I agree.

I am not dissing indie or 2D games. I have many indie games aswell and enjoy variety. But what I meant was that if Nintendo unveils their new console with a 2D Mario game (Nintendo icon), it won't attract much interest from gaming community who have already become so used to Xbox360/Ps3 titles.

On some forums people including nintendo fanboys have already commented that they want to see a true 3D Mario game.

I think the reason being people want to see true potential of Wii U and they are in general skeptical about current state of games on Wii U

Especially as their current 2D games feel like album fillers. As fun as the NSMB series has been on the Wii and DS it feels a little souless and is a far cry from the flagship 2D Mario games Nintendo used to produce. If Nintendo put some weight behind some proper 2D titles then people would take notice.

Quite possibly the worst E3 ever. These companies are all past it. Where's the spark? Even Halo 4's reveal was nowhere near as exciting as Halo 2 or 3's.

I enjoyed E3, sure it wasn't the best and there was some truly dreadful things (Wonderbook - sure I am not the targetted audience, but it didn't even work half the time)The Last of Us and Watch Dogs redeemed it for me - these two games look truly remarkable and I can't wait to have them!

I remember when E3 was on its knees and it nearly folded, tbh too much money now in the wii trend but they never spend serious cash like real gamers would do.

Just watched sony's conference and I cannot wait for those games to come out!!!!!

They look epic!!
God of war, last of us, battle royal and beyond!!!

I agree Watch Dogs looks like a true next generation game. Extremely good looking can't wait to see more. Oh and last of us. Games with great stories. That's what Nintendo is lacking. I'm so disappointed right now with Nintendo.

I really was hoping Nintendo were going to unveil a game that would make me per-order a Wii U. I want to love them like I did when I was a kid. Playing Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, opening Zelda Christmas 1998. They were the glory days for sure!

But instead they have given me no reason to buy the Wii U, certainly not at launch, and probably not for some time after. Missed opportunity Nintendo. Sad times for me tbh.

have to say i'm surprised by the titles listed so far for the wii u

the zombiu game looks quite tasty as does the new mario.

all we need now is a goldeneye remake and some mariokart and i'll get a pre order in pronto

you know whats funny Sony didn't even try (show new IPs and new vita games) but they still had a better conference than Nintendo who showed off a new console but couldn't deliver any New IPs or games for the WII U excluding Ubisoft. Also Pikmin was a Wii game in development for 3 years.
