Power adapter for PCI-Express?

Hi,

I have upgraded my gfx to a 6970 but unfortunetly it seems my psu only has 2 x 6 pin power cables and on the gfx there are 1 x 6pin and 1x8pin. So is there an adapter for this? Or is it new psu time?
