**French Open, Roland Garros 2012**

Impressed with Murray so far. Honestly thought he'd get blown away today but he's playing well, just needs to cut out the unforced errors and he's got a good chance.

Ferrer has had quite a few unforced errors as well. I haven't seen his previous games, but the gap has been overhyped I feel.

Nadal through in 3. I expect Ferrer, assuming he beats Murray, to give him his toughest test of the tournament in the semis before he destroys Federer or Djokovic in the final.

Strangely, despite his high ranking, I never get excited about Murray's games. His matches always seem like a borefest, to me.

And I missed most of Nadal's match (a player which I do find exciting).

I know that you are confident in his ability, but against Djo, I don't think it will be straight forward. Djo is mentally tough and I still remember what happened in the Australian Open. Nadal "looked" like the man to beat, but Djo just wouldn't go down.

Yesterday was a fine example of just why Djo is playing some of the best tennis ever seen in the modern era.

Nadal on clay is an entirely different animal to Nadal on other surfaces. He's a machine and I'm yet to see anything from Federer or Djokovic, who have both played well below par, that will trouble him. Even at their best they would struggle against Nadal playing like he is.

Don't get me wrong. I agree that Nadal is the all-time best player on clay. No question about it. But to write of Djo is wrong. That guy is mentally tough and will fight back (and win) from a match point down (eg yesterday and last year, vs Federer).

If Nadal meets Federer, I expect the match to last 3 sets.

Novak is an unknown quantity at the moment. Tsonga match can be disregarded as a measure of his form, since Tsonga was just hitting the lines with massive groundies - he won't have to deal with that again.

This time last year Novak was on fire and had owned Nadal on clay twice in a row and would've taken him if he had made the FO final. Fortunately for Nadal, Federer did him a favour and played a fantastic match to take out Novak.

Ferrer's an annoyingly consistent player. Murray's form is all over the place yet Ferrer has maintained the same level from the very start so far. You get the feeling Murray's got the beating of him when he ups his game but can't maintain that level long enough to actually win.

Fantastic point by Murray to get the break. Hopefully he can build on this.

Whoever said that his matches were boring and Nadal's matches were exciting clearly has a predilection for watching bum picking, time wasting and thousands of moonballs that clear the net by 8 feet :D

Exactly right. Very frustrating for Murray fans

That was me :p

Best match ever: Federer vs Nadal, Wimbledon Final 2008.
3rd best match ever: Federer vs Djo, Australia Final 2012.

Those are just 2 matches off the top of my head which were epic. Nadal was in both. Providing his opponent is up for it, Nadal's matches are exciting.

What I like about Nadal and Djo is that they play right to the end and the play hard. They play hard until the body breaks. Federers playing style is different, so he never gets to play to the point where his body breaks.

Federer remains the best player of all time, though Djo and Nadal may catch and pass him. Only time will tell.

I was watching the womens game today and I think it was over in 1 hour (or thereabouts).
How can the womens game justify getting paid the same prize money, as the men?

Aus Open 2012 was one of the most boring matches I have ever watched (apart from the latter part of the 5th set). No variation, just very safe tennis, rally balls over and over again. Very solid but low risk - almost robotic. It was only the fact that it went 5 sets and lasted 6 hours (because they are both MASSIVE timewasters) that it is incorrectly regarded as a good match.

If you watch more tennis other than finals from the past few years, check out Federer vs Safin semi-final Aus Open 2005. THAT is one of the best matches ever. Not a single loopy heavy top spin forehand in sight, just massive shot making.
