S3 locked to Orange

Im looking at buying a S3 that has came from Orange directly so therefore may be locked to that network (I'm on Orange anyway so no problem), does the S3 have any specific software on it that is exclusive to Orange (Orange branded software) or will it be the same as a unlocked phone? ie just the phone and Android ICS default settings?

It'll probs be full of bloatware & custom boot screens etc

Thats what im afraid of, don't really want any of that so might have to pay a little extra and get a unlocked version just to be safe, thanks for the information

Orange ones usually came with different radios designed to deal with the dual network better (it's pretty power consuming if done incorrectly) and a revamped stack to deal with SignalBoost. While I never agreed with the amount of crapware shovelled with them, Orange did over time make an effort to make it non-resident - eg nothing that runs as a persistant service in Android so if you can overlook the objects in the app launcher (which most networks are guilty of), by and large they are the same as the others.

The only standout is the homescreen - this was an effort to give a consistant orange L&F which I always gave horriffic feedback on, part of owning a new device is the L&F, I liked them being unique

I got my galaxy note few weeks ago from orange & mine was unlocked mate
