Asus Maximus V Formula Preview/ Results/ everything Thread!!!

Overclocking, Digi Power and Dam Presets in Bios.

This has a unique option of adding voltage directly to IMC aiding in memory stability especially at high mhz and Tight Timings. Not had chance to freeze RAM on this board yet but will be doing soon. DRAM voltage up to 2.5v OMG!!!

My favorite the DRAM presets!!!

A few early results ;)

So far a real top performer and a great addition to ASUS ROG Z77 boards alongside the amazing MVG. Any questions or items that need clarifying let me know.

price ? can you change those fittings on cooler ? they seems bit small, for what size tubing are they ?

edit: probably there will be aftermarket waterblock for it .

edit: nvm got my answer " barbs are fixed sorry. They are 3/8 OD. "

still would be nice to know the price

Yeah they are 3/8 fittings mate. I have not used the water block at all while testing I have had a fan over the VRM area.

I am not sure of the price to be honest.

how long till they are on sale thought this would be out by mid may

been using a temp mobo since late April cant really wait any longer :(

I cant give you the release date mate. NDA for that I am affraid.

The engineers have been perfecting the board which has caused this so called delay. Its a great product and definitely worth waiting for.

I take it your using multi GPU??

yes SLI 670

currently using a Asus Z68 Deluxe but its meant to be for my dads pc im building

told him i only need to "borrow" it till mid may lol

i have a 2700k that does 4.8 @ 1.344v

the main reason im waiting for this is because in the past ive always managed to obtain the same overclock with a lower voltage (sometimes up to 0.06v lower) after switching to a ROG board

anyway i thought the NDA was meant to be up after computex

i guess i can wait a little longer

:(

Only certain bits. I have posted what I can for the moment. It is a great board the 0.06 volts is probably because of superior power delivery but come on who cares about 0.06v!!!!

I am hammering this board and the rails are stable.

Gonna freeze some hypers next and see if the 2.5v RAM voltage delivery is stable.

oops my mistake meant to say 0.6v :p

my Q6600 went from 1.41v on my DFI x48 board to only need 1.36 on my Maximus II Formula

im hoping the MVF can take my 2700k down to 1.30~1.32 @ 4.8
its almost prime stable at that voltage it fails at around 7-8 hours

it only needs 1.3 for 4.7 i reckon its the board but we shall see

i just wish they would just hurry up and release it

hi 8Pack I see it has 6 x SATA 6Gb/s is this split to 2 on Intel and 4 on marvell

and if so on the marvell wondering if this will support 4 x sata 6gb ssd,s in RAID 0 just the same as the new ASUS P8Z77-V Premium w/Thunderbolt

Yes it is configured 2 Intel 4 ASmedia and yes the Asmedia ports support raid with up to 4 disks. As usual with all added disk controller chips there are added latencys when compared to the Intel ports.

8Pack sorry to be a pain but regarding the esata on this board i understand it uses the asmedia controller does it add an extra boot screen to your start up while it detects the drives or is it detected on the same screen as the native sata drives are

also have you used the mSATA combo card

im thinking of getting a small 40gb device

does that add an extra boot screen as well

as you have guessed i really hate those extra boot screens

Thats good to know thanks

I wonder when OC will stock these and surly it will be cheaper than the

P8Z77-V Premium ?

Why do you hate the extra boot screens??? who cares??? yes it does add them so you can configure a hardware RAID array on Asmedia.

I have not got an msata combo card at all so I cant comment on that, I could try a gene one though as I think they are the same.
