It would be difficalt to replace and cost more to fix than the motherboard is worth.
Eh? if its those solder pads by the screw it'll be quite easy to fix, just get a comparable can without the black holder bit, few seconds with an iron and jobs done.
No, just solder the legs to the pads, making sure the polarity is correct. If you're certain it came from there. What board is it? What writings are on the casing of the capacitor?
Doesn't matter that the voltage rating is 16 if the old cap is 1.6. It just means you bought a massively overspecced part. However I doubt that the original was just 1.6V. I have tiny tiny caps that can take more volts than that.
