Hey all,

I'm not certain if this is the correct place so if not I apologize and could a Mod move it.

I've just ordered a Blue S3 and I'm looking to sell my old iPhone 4. Has anyone had any experiences with carphone warehouse trade in? I've been offered £250 from them but I'm always abit dubious about sending stuff off and them making up some excuse not to give me what they originally quoted me?

The phones generally in very good condition minus a small blemish on the bottom left corner, would that make much difference?

Dont really want to send the phone off and not get anywhere near what they valued me.

I think they wait for you to send it off, then give you a price for it when they receive it and you can either accept it, or reject it and they send the phone back, at your expense i believe.

Just take it into a shop. From experience they simply take the phone, ask if it's working, check it turns on and then give you the quoted price. Simples. I've done it twice now.

traded a sgs2 in with cpw last week ,used thier online form ,
it took a few days for the padded envelope to come ,
i sent it back by special delivery and insured it for 250 ,
they got it the next day,and got a email saying they had it too,
two days later they has sent me a cheque for 232 which coved the quoted value and a bit more for postage ,
all in all it was done with in a week ,
but if you use the online form you cannot take it to the shop and do it,as i found out

What condition was the phone in?

Mine seems to look pretty much grand except for this

Think this affect the valuation much?

So how much would they pay for a 32GB iPhone 4 in perfect condition, really fancy a certain blue phone with a huge screen :)

I got £350 for mine but then I sold mine on gumtree rather than these trade in places...mazuma offered me £250 for my 32gb iphone4 lololol...

This, used my last phone as part ex for my Lumia 710. She scanned the IMEI barcode, checked it turned on and was wiped then popped it in a bag. Job done.

i got rid of my iphone 4 the other day. £250 was paid onto a bank card, which was suprisingly in my bank the following day.
i found them to be ideal to get rid of the phone quick.
they dont want anything, just the handset, so im now left with a box, 2 chargers and some headphones, but heyho.

Charger would be handy though lots of stuff can be charged of a micro usb. I'm going to use mine to power a raspberry pi.

Mine had a mark like that and a small crack on the back glass and they gave me the full £250 within 2 days of sending it.
