Not much talk about LG's upcoming Flagship that is to be released later this month - don't blame you guys either as the their last flagship, the LG 2X, which my mrs had - left a lot to be desired.

Anyway - who's interested? Fairly decent spec wise and LG have played it safe with the design - if the software is upto scrtach then this may well be a good alternative to the heavy hitters, namely S3 and the HOX.

LG announced today that they will be launching their Optimus 4X HD this month in 11 countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK, and Italy, right on plan, actually.

The LG Optimus 4X HD was announced back at the MWC in February, where we got a pretty good look at it. Unfortunately, that was it, as the Koreans have been taking their time with the market release of the smartphone.
The Optimus 4X HD runs on a 1.5Ghz quad-core Tegra 3 chipset, comes with 1GB of RAM and has a 4.7-inch True HD IPS screen of 720p resolution. The camera on the back is an 8 megapixel unit with FullHD video recording. The smartphone's profile is 8.9 mm and the battery inside has a 2,150 mAh capacity to cope with the demands of the bigger screen and multiple cores. Overall, it seems like a nice match for the like of the Samsung Galaxy S III and the HTC One X.

So it's essentially similar to the One X just with a bigger battery and an SD card slot?

It will be interesting to see how it performs with the Tegra 3 in comparison to the X, and how the camera/video recording fares. If it ticks all the boxes it could match the S3 at the very least...

Looks rubbish compared to the One X. A £250 bargain in 6 months time. :D

(Oh Gimme the S4 pro/prime one with 2GB RAM, not the gimped EU version)

Most phones look rubbish next to the One X, but it hasn't stopped people buying the S3 has it... :D :p

The screen doesn't look anywhere near as good as the X in that video either.

Well, the One X doesn't have S-Voice! :D Depressingly the SGS3 is now the only phone sold in the UK to use a 28/32nm chip. :(

A decent polariser and curved glass makes a huge difference! Better blacks, brightness and contrast. Thank god HTC stopped skimping in that area.

You can get all the GS3 stuff now, I have been running the new touchwiz launcher on my One X for a trial its as smooth as butter, also S-Voice works fine on the One X :).

Yes very similar specs to the HOX. Camera/video will probably be it's weak spot judging from their past - we'll see from the upcoming reviews how good it is. It has a handy 350mah extra in battery juice compared to the X so will be interesting too see how that plays out. Main thing is how good the software is though - from the video's I've seen it's not as smooth as it should be - stutters on initial pinch to zoom etc.

The screen should be very decent - maybe only just behind the HOX. In isolation it should be very satisfying. And kudos to LG for including the memory slot and big battery.

It not as wide as the others too - 2mm less than the S3.

LG Optimus 4X HD now available in Germany, to hit UK mid-July - LG are seriously slacking with release dates. Was damn announced back in Feb.

When I first saw this phone I thought :O LG is making a half decent phone, but its way way way over due. Tegra3 has left a slight sour taste after using the One X in shops but hopefully that is down more to the one X.

If the battery life is good, on par with the S3 and the build is somewhat better then the typical cheap plastic ive seen latly then this could be good.

Damn this looks nice, personally I don't like the look of both the HOX and S3. Specs looks pretty good too. Hopefully softwarewise it will be nice and stable.

Don't take sense not being fully optimised for the One X being a bit jittery with tegra 3, when you run any other launcher the phone is as smooth as butter and when you run the optimised rosie launcher on xda all the jitters are gone.

As I said above I am currently using the new touchwiz from the S3 which has been ported and its just how it runs on the S3 smooth.

That sounds good :D, more options the better :D. It wont look as good as the One X but has a bigger battery and a SD card.
