Has anyone been to the Eden project to see a live act?

I think it's quite obvious from the link you've provided.

"Tim Minchin plus special guests"

So it's him and other people.

"We’re welcoming comedy back in 2012 with musical comic Tim Minchin, who will be headlining a one-off day of humour at the Sessions."

I read that as he'll probably be introducing a bunch of other acts and then he'll be the final one on with his set.

yes, but click on any of the other acts performing there over the year and the times are all the same 12pm-11pm. surly not every event comes with 11 hours of 'special guests'? this is why i asked.

I went to see Mumford and Sons and the Doves at the Eden Sessions...they certainly weren't on for 11 hours. It started around 6 or 7 iirc with Mumford, then there was a 40-minuteish break, then Doves came on. There were other little side-stages though that possibly started earlier, it was almost like a miniature festival.

ok kool, so no need to get there for 12 and hang around all day like a lemon (i have no one to go with :()

Indeed, it's a mini festival type setup. I played on one of the side stages the other summer on one of their big summer gig days, and there was music going on all around the site on various stages throughout the whole day. A lot of it was really rather good, and you've got every chance of getting stuck in a massive entry queue if you leave it to arrive until much later on in the day...

ok awesome. are the main acts normally there all day, like doing photos and autographs and stuff, or do they normally arrive just before they go on?
i aint doing owt that day, so will probs aim to get there relativly early and make a day of it, although 11 hours is a long time on your own :p

I can't help with your problem, but I went to see Supergrass there in 2004 (it was my first big concert). It was incredible. :D

yeh i have been to reading festival, cardif, hammersmith, wembly etc to see people, but they have all been like turn up at 7, watch a support act, main act at 9, go home (excluding reading festival obv :p).

cant wait to go, be nice if i knew some people going, but hey, thats life :)

I think the main acts were sound checking at or around the 2pm-4pm regionin the afternoon, but they will be there all day. Whether they're doing autographs or stuff is another matter entirely...! The Eden project itself could easily eat half a day, even if you hurry round though, it'd be a shame to miss it if you've never been :)

12pm-11pm?

I'm confused, the gig doesn't appear to be long enough for one Tim Mitchin song?

11 hours isn't long enough

never been to the Eden Project before, plants don't really interest me. hopefully someone will notice me looking like a loner and talk to me lol

Was just joking about the length of his songs, they always go at least a minute past being funny in my book :p
