Ok, so I have the new iPad but I'm really having to press the home button to get it to respond now. Not been dropped or anything so I'm assuming I'm going to have to swap it at some point. Is anyone else having this issue? :(

Have you tried restoring your iPad. You might also want to try this.

1) Go into a stock iPad app (i.e. pre-installed ones) for example the Calender or Notes.

2) Hold the top power button down until you get a message to slide across to power off and then let go of the power button.

3) Now hold the home button down, keep holding it and eventually you should go back to your home screen.

Try using your home button now. What that does is re-calibrates the home button and may solve your problem. After I jailbroke my iPad my Home button become very unresponsive and that sorted it out for me. If that doesn't work then I'd recommend swapping the iPad over as it probably is a hardware issue.

While it is more responsive my iPhone button still works fine. Try what I've said above might make it better for you?

Thanks, my home button was acting up on my 4s. Seems much more responsive. Thanks.

Well i got both the ipad 3 and iphone 4 and have noticed the new ipad home button is a little recessed but it shouldnt case that much of a issue

I had problems with the iPad 2 home button but because of the randomness of it, I put it down to software, and after doing a complete reset, its been fine since.
