BenQ XL2420T Now available

I use mine on gamma 4.

I started to notice a change in gamma / colours from top to bottom, 1st noticed on the battlelog window (the white background varies in whiteness!). The blue background on this page changes quite a bit too!

I know TN panels are not great but how about a comparison.

These tests show it up quite well - http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/viewing_angle.php

wow, that's really bad. I have the samsung S23a700d, it's a TN monitor as well, but the view angles are much better than that. That would really be annoying for me. Is it faulty I wonder? People seem to be pretty happy with the benq overall.

Got mine working looks wonderfull but I dont see any difference running 60hz or 120Hz
Tried Skyrim BF3 no difference? Im using the Duel link DVI port. But I can put it into either port and windows reports 120hz?

Using a gtx 680. Anyway to test if its just me?

I wouldn't use a slow moving game like Skyrim to judge it. BF3 in 120hz is a huge improvement over 60Hz IMO. Any FPS game gains huge smoothness.

I am currently using this monitor as my main gaming monitor, but am soon to be having my V+ box moved to the room my pc is in, is it possible to use this monitor as a tv for now until i can afford a standalone hdtv?

Thanks.

I've attached some pics (all taken straight on at my eye level) - is my monitor better or worse than anyone elses (thinking DSR and try again!)?

The Lagom one is quite similar to my monitor, but the colour variance on the others are much less pronounced with the viewing angle I'm currently using, but I can produce similar results to yours by tilting it upwards more.

Hey all just got myself this monitor and i'm super happy with it and upgrading to 120hz is amazing! my only issue is i can't seem to get good image settings. I play diablo 3, world of warcraft and league of legends mostly. Could some of you post what settings you have so i can try them out please :)

I know TN panels are not great but how about a comparison.

These pictures are not very helpful without knowing the distance from the screen at which they were taken. I also noticed in a direct comparison of two XL2420Ts that the optimum viewing angle can differ between them - one had to be tilted up a bit to get the best image, the other down.

Had these running surround for 3 months now, absolutely amazing monitors for gaming and 3D.Best viewing angle I found(for me) was to have the top of the screen just above eye level and set to FPS1 with the applications controlling the settings (control panel). As others have said its probably best to set up using a fast/intense action game to find your prefered settings and then enjoy.

Just ordered mine :D, should be here on Saturday.

I won't be building my new system for a couple of weeks yet, so I just wanted to get everything set up 'physically'.

My main concern is making sure there isn't any dead/stuck pixels before it's too late to do anything about them...

So, can anyone recommend the best way to check for dead/stuck pixels? Hopefully I don't get any of the annoying ones that appear after 'some heavy use'.

While I'm at it, I'll be doing some research into what the best colour settings are (Though I know this can change from person to person, if only slightly), any tips or links on where best to find some good settings? Even a hint of when it was talked about (month etc) in this thread would be useful.

I just need to ask a question which has bugged me for people with this monitor OR LCDs in particular..

When displaying a black image at full screen WHILST looking at your monitor directly, in the middle of your screen, is it slightly lighter than the top and bottom? Like there is a very minor 2-3% grey haze?

If you can't notice it first time by staring/looking for it, look into the bottom right of your monitor to see if this horizontal grey haze pops up in the corner of your eye.

It's just a query, in case it's just a bad monitor for me or whether that's what all LCDs do. I do not recognise this on start up on the black behind the Windows logo however.

I'm confused on what I should do. It's like a cloudy grey haze right in the centre that you can only really notice if you have it in the corner of your eye.. The brightness is 5 and contrast 50, gamma 4.

Here's a picture, but it's not a perfect representation of what I see. The top and bottom are actually dark, the horizontal haze you see isn't as noticeable in person as you can see on this picture either, just it's there:

It was taken from about arms length at eye level 2/3 up the screen. This one went back (DSR) so will order up another one it might be a bit better, if not I'll keep it anyway - the panel is great in games

recieved mine today.
i have a stuck pixel (if not dead) in an annoying area, not that far from the center. i say stuck pixel because sometimes it seems to appear purple/pink/red, i couldn't tell. what can i do ? i'm kind of disgusted of technology, i had bad luck so many times.
edit : with http://udpix.free.fr/ and using the different colors on the left the pixel looks normal when set on red and blue. so it's not completly dead right ? if you ahve any advice on how to use this program tell me :)
