At least it isn't Friday 13th today !!

Just built my i3570k system this morning in the CoolerMaster CM690 II Advanced (white)

Need to check off before turning it on:

1. CPU fitted correctly - check
2. CPU cooler fitted correctly - check
3. RAM fitted correctly - check
4. Motherboard chassis fitted correctly - check
5. GPU card fitted correctly - check
6. PSU fitted correctly - check
7. DVD-RW fitted correctly - check
8. SSD fitted correctly - check
9. HDD fitted correctly - check
10. SATA 6 cable for SSD - check
11. SATA 3 cable for HHD & DVD - check
12. SATA power cables for SSD & HDD - check
13. ATX power cable for DVD - check
14. Internal fans connected to mobo - check
15. Front button connections fitted correctly - check
16. GPU psu connection fitted correctly - check
17. Cable tidied around back - check

So, is there anything missing before I turn the thing on. I am actually scared haha haven't built a high end pc in 8 years !!

Also with SSD what do I have to set in BIOS to get it to boot and install OS on SSD drive, something about AHCI ??

Cheers

Is the motherboards extra 4/8pin ATX power connector plugged in?

In the BIOS you will find the SATA settings somewhere (depending on which board it is) and the option to select IDE/RAID/AHCI

Yeah that is plugged in, I've known about that one since the days of the old P4 processors.

Not plugged it in yet, I left the PCI firewire card at work so have to go out in a minute and get that, so will connect the HDD then.

I have a Gigabyte GAZ77-D3H - what stuff from the cd do I have to install (apart from the drivers as they are all now loaded) I mean software and stuff, is it worth installing on there.

AS SSD benchmark:

Is this good score ?

Hmmm I have annoying high pitched feedback from my speakers and I can't work out why.

It seems to change in tone and frequency, even cutting out and making other screechy noises while the pc is working such as loading screens, games etc. It's not loud but it's there and considering this is supposed to be a studio pc it isn't going to work.

Never had the feedback in my old pc so it's definitely something in the new one.
