I would swap the board for a Gigabyte UD5H

what would the benefit of low profile ram be? giving better clearance for larger coolers? And what is the main benefit over the asus to gygabyte? better o/c ability or something?

The pow profile does indeed alleviate any fitment issues with large heatsinks and their fans that may overhang the RAM slots.

The UD5H has a better soundchip, better UK based warranty, is getting some fantastic reviews,

You can do, but 1600Mhz is fine, overclock the CPU independently of the RAM is the easy way, so stick the RAM at 1600Mhz and get the CPU upto 4.5Ghz and higher.

Read a few reviews on it and all said it was a good board, i have had a lot of asus high end gfx cards in the past and all have been excellent so thought i would give it a try, plus it looks pretty damn cool, and overclockers are doing a bundle with the board at the moment so thought it must be half decent.

And i just realised that i have ordered a CPU Cooler that is not for socket 1155 only socket 1156!! Sugar! :s

Edit just phoned them and got the cooler changed within a few seconds, gone for the Alpenföhn Matterhorn Shamrock Edition!

Haha really? They could have told me that one the phone! doh! its cost me an extra £17!! was wondering why no one picked it up originally! ah well hopefully will be a lot better cooler then the one i was going to get! thanks for all your help!
