Its time to leave my old Desire, had it since release date and it's served me well.
I was after a direct upgrade but it seems all the newer phoens are huge :/

Are the current ony's any good?
really like the look of them

TBH you get used to the size of the newer phones pretty quickly.

Been using the Galaxy Note for a few months now and really would hate to go back to anything smaller - even tho coming from the Xpera X1 I was very reluctant to go to anything larger as at the time I thought it the perfect size.

HTC One S for £16 per month on a Talkmobile 24 month contract with unlimited data from Carphone Warehouse. Screen is 4.3", about the average size these days, especially compared to the larger HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III.

HTC ONe S/X or the S3 for android, if you want iPhone would wait to see what the 5 offers, there is also lumia 800.

Sticking with Android :)
I'm liking the looks of the SOny's more and moe what they like compared to the S3 and such?

This seems pretty good, whats the package like?

I had an Xperia S for a few months then got a S3.... the S3 is superior in every way.

IIRC, 200 minutes and 500 texts and it is a 24 month contract.

Whats the difference between the One S and One X ?

Main advantage is that the X has a bigger and better screen (720 x 1280 Super IPS LCD2 VS the 540 x 960 SAMOLED on the S) although you may prefer SAMOLED for the pitch blacks and more vibrant colours

Has NFC

Has more internal storage

S has better battery life, better processor overall (for heat, power consumption etc.), IMO better design/looks and build/perceived quality (very subjective the looks as some just love the white X), better audio (according to gsmarena), faster and smoother overall (not a HUGE difference though and the X may be sorted out with some more updates in the future)

Everything else is more or less the same.

If 10GB of storage for photos, films etc. and 2GB for apps along with 25GB of dropbox storage is not enough for you then the S won't be a wise decision :p

You can see my review of the one S (linked to in my sig) :)

When I first saw it I thought it looked really nice but overall its not a good phone, the screen wasnt that good had some weird yellowish tint. The way the button is set up ****ed me off. The phone is much longer then it needs to be due to its somewhat weird design. Overally I wouldnt consider it as my next phone. For me it would be between the One X/S or the S3.

One S - Better size at 4.3" its at that nice size were you can use it perfectly fine in 1 hand and still have a decent amount of screen space to enjoy media and the web. Very very fast phone and felt really great and solid.

One X - Best screen of the lot (althought I personally like amoleds for the perfect blacks) it doesnt feel as fast as the One S or the S3. Overally looks very nice apart from the camera which has thie ugly ugly ugly ring around it. Build is very nice and similar to the lumia 800.

S3 - Amazing screen, very fast would say on par with the one S. For me I like Touchwiz a lot more then sense, it has a lot less naff and useless animations and isnt as bloated and therefore runs much smoother then anything else. the s3 also has a lot of nice little os touches that you could find useful. Overall the S3 will/does have the biggest development in terms of roms behind it.

I like the Xperia S. I bought it because it has the best camera on an andriod phone so far. It also integrates well with my PS3. I like the fact I can plug my PS3 controller into my live doc and play my games with a real control pad. With the HDMeeI out it makes a decent gaming device.

an't find the deal mate, got a link or has it finished?

Think I'vedecided on HTC One S for me, the missus wants an S2 tho as doesn't like the size of the s3.

Exxtra line will be just Sim only either that or something with a disgustingly cheap handset :p

Long gone now :p :(

The next best deal is T-mobile 24 month contract, 750MB data, unlimited texts and 100 minutes for £21 month, no upfront cost.

The one S feels smaller than the GS 2 as well.

The HTC One S on 3 Mobile is £32 a month and £29 up front.

All-you-can-eat data
2,000 minutes
5,000 Three-to-Three minutes.
5,000 texts
24 months

The Galaxy S III is £34 on the same deal and is £0 upfront... seems a bit of a no-brainer?

yea but if you read up he says "Think I'vedecided on HTC One S for me, the missus wants an S2 tho as doesn't like the size of the s3."

Yeah, but he didn't say why, he might fancy the One S as it's cheaper... which it is, but not on all deals/networks.

true but if you read the post above mine there is a post saying T-Mobile is the best deal, £21 a month, 750mb or something like that... im just showing a deal that I think is better in terms of data and calls. Im not telling him what phone to go for.

Yes, but if he were to go for that deal, he could get a better phone... :p
