Lurkers and members market

Hi,

Is there any chance of amending the members market's rules to take into account long term lurkers? I understand the time requirement, but I've been here for years but don't have 1,000 posts because I'm just not that prolific. Judging by the How do I sell my PC? thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18412974, there's other people in the same boat who have been here for years but haven't posted a thousand posts either, and saying that we should post more wouldn't be necessarily productive, you'd just end up having a "LOL"s tagged on the end of threads.

Adding "LOL", or whatever, to threads won't get you anywhere.

Please note that this does not mean you spam the forums simply to increase your posts, as this action will result in posts being deducted, and if you continue this behaviour, your account will eventually be banned/suspended.

Personally I don't think its too bad.
1,000 posts mean trusted members use it so it's actually hard to get scammed in there.
Also,I'm sure this high requirement benifts overclockers so not everyone buys second hand stuff there rather than their store:P

Although, I do think it should be lowered a little.

I just about got in when it was 250 posts, still slowly making my way to 1k :p
 
gotta i agree, i dont post a whole lot, but im on here everyday reading. i have sold on other forums before with out a hitch, (ultimate-reef). just seems a little steep, i have been a member on ultimate-reef for maybe 5 years, but still only have 500 post. at this rate it wont be until 2020 until i can use the MM here.
 
Hmmm, Do I class as a "lurker"?

I reckon I might, I come here almost every day, check out new threads, read the news and deals, and do tons of research for the next item or project.
I don't post much as I mostly have nothing beneficial to add.
Most of the answers you seek are on here if you're prepared to spend the time looking.

As for MM, yes it would be nice to have access, but I agree with the "active and contributing" part of the terms.
 
I was pretty upset when they changed the post requirement to 1000, it was at 250 just before the new 6 series gfx cards came out, it was my intention to sell my Lightening XE's and upgrade but they changed it lol. :-/.

Im finding it hard to make my post count higher, i mainly come on here to read and learn (every day haha)
