Audi B7 RS4, E46 M3, E90 335 or BMW 135i

The only reason for suspension was because i had heard about the DRC problems which most people ditch for coilovers instead of paying silly money to get a repair.

Will the new M135i use the same engine also?

Then they are missing the point as it's cheaper to get Audi to fit 4 new DRC's than most indi's to fit 4 new KW's. It's a sign also of people who but RS4's today and people who bought them new/nearly new like I did, different priorities.

You'd get that for 20k I suspect, also head off to CSL Register and speak to the boys and girls there. If you have 20K you will find a solid CSL, wont be the best and will likely have miles but the engines have proven to be very very solid and if you want to track it you will find a few good ones around 20K-22K no problem.

You beat me to it, was going to say the same thing. CSL Register is a good place to find out everything you need to know.

My brother has owned an Audi RS4 for a couple of years now and has experienced many of the common issues; thankfully all the issues under his ownership have been fixed under warranty. He bought the car from Audi and managed to get a two year warranty thrown in with the deal which turned out to be very handy indeed. It's had thousands spent on it, from suspension to a new clutch and flywheel.

The two year warranty expired recently and he extended it for around a grand (for a further 12 months). I believe it's cheaper if you're extending a warranty like he did rather than setting up a new one. Either way, it needs a warranty or be prepared for some hefty bills. I'd recommend buying a Used Approved one with the warranty included.

The last 12+ months it's been completely reliable (touch wood) and a fantastic all round car to own and drive. It is an incredibly capable car and it sounds immense (my brother fitted a non-resonated Milltek).

I guess it depends exactly what you want. IMO, the RS4 is one of the best all rounders but there are more fun and involving cars out there which are considerably cheaper to run and probably less hassle.

Personally, I'd go for an M135i or 335i. If you want something more special and capable then an M3 or M3 CSL.

The issue I have always read about with Audi RS models is that many parts are bespoke to the RS models only, whereas other German super panzers share parts with their siblings.

Also none of the cars you list will be as easy to get from A to B with minimal fuss or time as an Evo, so if that is your thing you'll be very disappointed, especially if you get an NA car.

Has driving 2 cars ever crossed your mind? You seem to love your Evo. Could you not buy and run a second car but get something cheaper while still quite luxurious?
