Egypt did close the Straits, that act that actually set off the war. So it really depends on how you want to define pre-emptive strike.

Do you think that nothing would have happened if Israel had not launched that strike or would war have occured anyway?

Probably because, as far as international news goes, it really doesn't matter. It doesn't involve the British, British interests or British citizens. If it gains some more momentum it may be covered, but what is effectively an internal story about how Israel is dealing with illegal immigrants it really doesn't rate.

They arent? Were having a discussion about israels mass deportation of black people yet somehow its being classed as a "good jewish bashing thread" and and 3000yr old history and anti-semitism is being brought into the discussion . Hence why i said diverting attention from the policy at hand.

But don't let any of that get in the way of a good Jew bashing thread eh?

And this is why people don't like Israel...seems like they are a law unto themselves ie no one can touch them and are free to do what they want and like.

A bit like Saudi Arabia then? Except that the Saudi's sponsor terrorists which bomb us in our own country and Israel who are only interested in their own affairs.

LOL what has terrorism have anything to do with what I just said??

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Israel do what they like, when they want without having any sanctions put against them by the UN or other countries;)..

I apologise your Israel or jewish, seems like I've hit a raw spot with my comment earlier.

So it is OK for people who agree with you to actually make blantent jew bashing posts and it is OK for you to satirically play the "anti-semite" card?

Frankly if you are going to whinge about someone playing the "anti-semite" card you would look less of a hypocrite if you hand't been the first person to actually do so.

Remind me also that it is absolutely fine to pretend to be a radical islamist the next time a thread on Islam comes up for comedic effect of course. Or would that possibly be considered a little islamaphobic?

You're moaning about Israel when there is a far worse country not a million miles away from it. Saudi sponored terrorism and human rights abuses = no UN sanctions. But then I suppose you think that's ok as they're not Jewish.

I've already said I'm not Jewish, but I feel I should tackle racist views wherever I find them. Anyway, I think I'm arguing with folk who don't want to see reason, a bit like DirtyDog and his ilk who see all the problems in this country to be because of immigrants, some see all the problems in the world to be because of Jews...
