***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

****! - Take it they're better then? :( ah well.

Wouldnt worry about it. The Samsung may not be guaranteed class 10 but it will be more than quick enough and may even match class 10 speeds TBH (a class is the guaranteed minimum speeds but most top end cards like the Samsung do better than they state). Unless you are moving lots of things on and off the card on a daily basis, you won't even notice.

Wandered into the Vodafone shop in Glasgow this afternoon and was offered a white S3 on PAYG for £475.

I wanted a sim free so what's the difference, can't I just put my own sim in? He did say that the phone would be locked to Vodafone.

Any thoughts?

PAYG could be locked to Vodafone ..you'd need to ask them

Have I got a faulty sdxc card ?

Put the card in the phone, formatted it, shows 59gb free.
Use media monkey to sync all my music (over 8000 tracks) to a directory called music.
Now have about 24gb free on the card
Phone works fine, can see all the music, play tracks and so on.
Ripped a new cd
Plug phone back in, tell media money to sync. It says there isn't enough room on the card and asks if I want to continue anyway ? hit yes and it starts trying to copy something like 7980 tracks to the card.. so I quit.
If I look at the content of the card in media monkey there are only about 40 tracks shown.. if I look via windows explorer it shows the same, although space used/free on the card is correct.
Delete everything from the card I can see with window explorer, unplug/plug back in.
Now other tracks that didn't show before now shows in explorer and media monkey ? still only a handful of tracks though.
I can keep repeating this, new stuff shows every time.
Windows reports the correct amount of free space on the card, but properties of the music folder does not show the correct number of files/folders.

Any suggestions ?

I have just formatted the card again and am re-syncing the lot.

Does media monkey even do intelligent syncing? I thought it just copied over everything you selected for sync and copied it anyway, irrespective of what was already on the device?

I think it is "intelligent", every time you plug in it scans the device for a few seconds. It can also auto sync as soon as you plug in, so unless it copies everything, every time it must know whats already on the device ?

Aside from that the magically disappearing files thing doesn't sound right to me, I think that is the cause of media monkey not knowing whats on the card and therefore wants to sync almost the entire lot again, which the card isn't big enough for..

I know Yodel get slated but being honest, I've found them to be the best courier! Last time they tried to deliver something and I was out, got back from work to find the out card with a mobile number, gave it a ring and the bloke answered and said he was in X village (20mins away) and would pop back, Turned up an hour later?!

The worst are city-link...

Which Software for Converting DVDs - BluRay

Hi,
Which software is everyone using to convert DVD-BluRay to the correct format for the S3 ?

Thanks

2 things bugging me - maybe it's user error but can anyone tell me:

In the built in mail client: if I have a number of email to read how can I jump to the next unread mail without closing the current mail going back to the inbox and selecting the next one. On the Desire I would simply click an up / down arrow to move between emails.

Alarms: On the Desire you could tap the clock widget and it'd take you into the clock app, on here I seem to get taken into the clock settings so I have to find the clock app from the app drawer.

Can either of these be done the way I'm used to?
