Britain braced for once-in-50-years storm to hit tonight

That was at something like 12.45. Looks fairly big for a Uk storm?
 
No idea on the ETA other than between anytime tonight and tomorrow. Oh and apparently it's now 70mph winds.

the wet weather is set to return this evening and get worse tomorrow as a slow-moving area of low pressure brings thundery showers and strong winds.
The Met Office has issued a new warning of wet and windy weather with periods of persistent heavy rain for parts of Wales and south-western England from late today until Saturday.
The Weather Channel said rivers would be overwhelmed and warned of a “major flooding event.” Up to 50mm more rain is due in many areas on Friday.
The Environment Agency told people in the South-West, Wales and Midlands to “prepare for flooding.” Dozens of flood alerts and warnings are expected to be in place tomorrow.

once in a lifetime? my grandparent, and even my parents were alive 50 years ago, so this will be twice for them :p

YELLOW WARNING of RAIN for Southwest England and Wales.
Rain spreading northeastwards will become heavy and prolonged at times. Strong winds will accompany the rain with gusts to gale strength around exposed coasts.
The public should be aware that this may lead to localised flooding in areas where the ground is already close to saturation, perhaps particularly across the south of Wales
Valid from 1800 Thursday until 2359 Thursday.

YELLOW WARNING of RAIN for Northern Ireland.
Outbreaks of rain will be heavy at times on Friday afternoon and evening and also for a time on Saturday. The heaviest rain will be over more eastern parts of Northern Ireland and will be accompanied by strong easterly winds.
The public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding.
Valid from 1200 Friday to 1500 Saturday.
