Best quality areo wipers?

Alca. Cheaper than Bosch, German, sleeker design, exact same quality.

I just added Valeos retrofit flat blades to my DB9. Work great, missing a bit at the bottom middle but I've heard this disappears over time - However, they are bulky, not the blades, but the mounting brackets are enormous. I wish there was some sleeker ones about - Do you have any pictures of these Alca ones?

EDIT: I just found your BMWLand post with photos - thanks - they look great, seeking them out now.

Aye here they are:

The bracket in the middle is flusher than the curved/square ones that poke out and the blade arms are as flat as humanly possible :)

Still going brilliantly on every wipe.

The BMW loop on the end of the wiper arms are smaller than "standard" though so I wonder if they will look similar to the Valeo ones once you factor in the bigger wiper arm end. I've ordered some anyway - we shall see!

Ah I never realised they were smaller! Always thought the standard fit Universal loop was just that, standard. My car doesn't use the newer type fitments of course as it had traditional blades as per all E46.

We can leave it to Fox to say definitively :p

I just saw the difference between these - one says "ensure your bracket isn't the larger type" but shows the same picture... Perhaps I mistook that and assumed BMWs had smaller brackets.

If they're rubbish it just means you've neglected your windscreen too long!

Sounds just like my problem?

Yeh mine is barely noticeable but apparently as they mould to the windscreen it gets better?

I've been told that you can manually "overbend" the blades - if they're not touching the middle, fold the edges away from the windscreen to make the blade flatter and if they don't touch the edges, fold the edges towards the screen (with the wipers off in their service position) to make the blade more curved.

I haven't tried this though...

I generally get Bosch, but I don't think they are particularly great. Better than halfords own brand but nothing to shout about. There a brand they keep banging about on the volvo forums that are cheaper and supposedly far superior, but I forget the name...

Just fitted the Valeos, quick delivery which is always nice

They are very thin but have a large mounting point, look a bit weird at first but thats because I'm not used to them I suppose

Valeo all the way. Been using them for a couple of years now, definitely miles better than Bosch. Bosch ones last about a month before disintegrating.

Exactly my issue with them.

Trying the Alca ones to see if they're better on that front.
