I'm thinking of not doing that on Inc. DB bench as well, not squeezing at the top to minimise shoulder aggravation...

its worth while on the bench to bring them in at the top, and really get a good squeeze on the chest, you shouldnt be aggrevating your shoulders by doing this, unless your really over exstend the motion, its a very different movement to shoulder press
There is no real point doing db press if your going to mimic the movement of BB press.
Delvis we have a bar like that at my gym. There should be a bolt around somewhere, just screw it in until it's finger tight and you'll be fine.
