FPN to increase to £90 and include careless driving

Contest it then and see if the court agrees

Oh I would, but shouldn't have to. The jobsworthvwould have all this hassle because he's a jobsworth, dislikes the car, or is just plain stupid.

The problem is those (some) who abuse their power, I just wish as a motorist I could have more faith in the police being fair and having common sense, but It's a pure game if luck depending on the officer.

How would that help in this situation?

Exactly, all it takes is someone's biased opinion rather than cold hard facts and evidence to cause a whole lot of hassle.

Ok, my example applies to a car like mine, but there are many others who could and will fall foul.

If implemented effectively it would likely make a mockery of those who argue that speed limits should be removed and that 'unsafe driving' should be enforced by a legion of traffic cops instead, at least after their 4th or 5th ticket by the 'driving nazi police' for their perfect driving anyway :p

If you can buy, insure, tax and fuel a car then a £60 is no deterrent. It's not even a tank of fuel for most cars.

If they fine every middle lane retard and tools driving round with foglights on then not only will the roads be safer and less congested you'll poor millions into the coffers and sort out our economic crisis.

All for this, The amount of nutters and idiots on the roads is getting silly. Stricter police enforceable penalties would hopefully help.

I think the swiss have it right for once, base the speeding fine on wealth. A £90 fine to someone on minimum wage is a much bigger punishment that a £90 fine to someone who earns that an hour. Revenues increase, the incentive to drive at the speed limit increases. Win win.

It'll often be a lower fine than if you get reported and get convicted at court, which is the alternative.

the alternative that rarely happens due to lack of evidence

i not long ago got pulled over and told i overtook on a double white line. the double white line that i patiently follow lorries on 8 times a week. the double white line that i clearly waited to pass because i know it gets watched at least one of those times a week. the double white line that was nearly 1KM away from the officer telling me i was a liar

with the new rules he could have given me a £90 fine couldnt he ? for something that never happened and could never be proven even it did happen

people like that guy dont have the intelligence to fine people based on such subjective ruling

so prove them as too dangerous to be on the roads in a court and ban them from driving instead of fining.

that is the proper way to fairly get dangerous drivers off the road. charging them £90 and letting them carry on isnt going to make the roads any safer

we need stricter punishments and not slaps on the wrists but it needs to be done fairly with proper policing and gathering evidence/footage of said driving

The human element of policing means this is a terrible idea. The gross incompetence and corruption amongst he police is rife due to the basic human element involved.

ACAB exists for a reason. We should be completely overhauling the IPCC before anything else.

Don't the Police make enough money?

I think its time they coughed up some Tax TBH.

What?

Have you ever thought you may not actually be God's gift to driving? Perhaps you sometimes do drive inconsiderately?

When this kind of idiocy is a daily occurrence within the Police force, I don't want them being able to give out points and a fine for what they see as dangerous driving.

Let us also not forget when the Police really get it wrong and just flat out murder innocent people, and get away with it.

i don't understand the undertaking laws can anyone clarify?

if im in traffic on the motorway and the inside lane is moving more freely than the middle or outside lane then should i be able to drive past them on the left or do i have to match their speed even if they could move to the inside themselves and speed up?

police make stuff up all the time. from the smallest lie on the street to virtually assaulting a 15 year old armed only with a camera?

these people literally make things up to get what they want and then use force when you don't buy it.
