You do realise that despite the postmodern family paradigm, traditional practices still in widespread use mean that there are a large demographic of women who are the primary caregiver in the home, it is still the Mother who is most likely to take care of the Children and who are targeted by the advertisers and media providers during the daytime and early evening when they are likely to be watching........
No one defines their roles by the TV advertisements they watch on the TV, the advertisements are defined by the demographics they are aimed at.
Whether the media representation of 'ideal' influences individuals is arguable, but you will find that family paradigms are generally defined by their individual circumstances not by the media representation of them.
