Hi all, hope all is well!

Just a quick question, i have been playing around with my IB i5 3570k and managed to get it stable at 4.5ghz with 1.2760v and my MAX temps on load on all four cores are :

core1: 67
core2: 69
core3:73
core4:71

Just want to get a few reviews on these temps for this type of oc as im a bit worried and want to make sure i got a good chip! Will really appreciate any help and advice! Thanks!

Looks decent enough. They are Max temps on 100% Load right?

Have you tried the voltage lower?

Thx for the reply mate, they are max temps on load using prime 95. But I have not tried lowering the voltage as core temps was reading a voltage of 1.2760 on max load so I set the volts to that.

try it about 1.209v and work up from there, obviously use a quick burn in test between each change.

Intel burn test is good (make sure its latest version) as it really whipps the cpu big time, so if its stable using that then its stable good and proper, for quickness you can set it to maximum stress test, all threads, and maybe 6 or 7 runs as if it passes after 6 or 7 runs it probably will be stable, once you get to the point it is defo stable then run the full x10 run test and do it at least 3 times, so thats like 30 runs.

And report back your temps, dont be doing anything on your pc at all or you will cause it to crash, just have one temp program running and thats it, dont touch the pc during the process, turn off your screensaver too so that you dont need to keep moving the mouse etc etc.

let us know mate :) ;)

EDIT :> sorry, just realised you said its an i5 and not an i7, so I aint too sure now, but the same type of instructions would still apply like I said anyway I guess, and your temps are fine by the way.

Sounds about right, I get around 60-65C max on my 3570k @ 4.2, so those sound about right for 4.5. I haven't tried 4.5, but it looks like you might be able to take the voltage down a little.

Hey guys just reporting back :D Firstly i want to thank everyone for the advice!

Anyway, iv done what i was told and managed to lower the volts from 1.2760 down to 1.25! The Max load temps when stressing over and over again are as follow:

Core1: 58
core 2: 64
core3: 62
Core4: 54

Im very happy with those temps compared to my previous temps and for 4.5ghz im now thinking if i should push further?

with temps as cool as that mate I would be happy just to leave it at that, but its up to you.

if those i5's are anything like the ivy i7 3770K then once you take the volatge closer to what they call the kind of highest safe point (1.3v) then you will see that your temps will fly up very high, your temps are very cool though, but there again I dont know what you use to do burn tests, I personally use intel burn test like ive mentioned before and that thrashes the life out the cpu, lol, seemingly reports temps like 10-20% higher than what prime does too, the way I see it though is that if it can pass several burn tests on intel burn test with it all set on maxium etc then it will pass anything, plus the fact that it really thrashes the cpu means your basically allowing for a lot of headroom in your overclock too.

You know what I mean with headroom ? Like dirty dust fans in the case clogging the airflow up, hot weather in summer or even winter when you have central heating on in house making the place feel like an oven, lol.

If I was you I would just leave it as it is as taking it to even 4.6 you wont even notice any difference mate, maybe a fraction of a difference in a benchmark test, but thats about it ;)

EDIT: just read back and noticed you are using prime, woops, lol.
