Only got 10GB space left on my SSD, was wondering if thats enough for Skyrim + patches + some mods?

Sealed copy waiting here to be installed for the last month but havent got round to it. Am i right in thinking it will have to be downloaded from steam or will it run of disk?

On a side note can someone list me the best mods to install? Pleease, never installed any mods on anygame before so completly clueless!

Will be buying a new ssd/s shortly so will be cloning everything over is that makes any difference.

I know Skyrim has a smaller footprint than Oblivion but 10GB would worry me when it comes to texture mods etc (especially if the drive is your Windows/app drive thus likely to expand naturally). Should be OK as you are planning on getting a new drive soon though.

Just started downloading now and says it 5.75GB! Will be moving over to a 256GB/512GB drive next week.

What i dont get is the, The Witcher 2 has taken 20GB worth of space which is much "smaller" game than skyrim

higher resoulution textures, a lot more movies and i think the elder scrolls games in general are compressed more if oblivion and morrowind was anything to go by.

most of skyrim is shared assets though , the witcher 2 will have tons of textures and models that barely get reused in the game world
