White / Blue Machine £1000 Budge

Cheers for your input Stulid, Could you be a bit more in depth?

I linked to a few good PSU in post15 to power a pair of 670's (it has sufficent power and cabling)

The motherboard you listed is a smaller mATX, it will fit the case, but will look lost in the cavernous space.

Another little thing is spending £100 on a keyboard and it not being "mechanical"

7850s are not worth £200. I got mine for £160

A 670 is a better buy if you get one for just under £300.

As at the current price you're going to have to get finance, if I were you I'd tone down your budget, or even buy second hand.

Everything in my sig comes in at under £550 (second hand stuff - case, mobo, ram, cpu, hdd)

Why is he going to have to get finance?

The PSU you linked ill swap in for the white on i picked it was only picked for the fact that if would fit in with the white case but useless if it wont do the job :)

What motherboard would be a better choice to fit the case then and with the memory i picked the normal size rather than the low profile just to fill everything out a bit and with the cooler the blue fan again just fitted the aesthetics.

Also i have no idea what Mechanical and Non-Mechanical your on about with the keyboards :)

I like Gigabyte boards, they are reliable, have a 3 year warranty, a UK based RMA centre so you dont have to send it abroad.

One of these,

A mechanical keyboard has mechanical switches under the keys and not a membrane, they feel better to type on, last longer,

That with maybe a Gigabyte board (better UK based warranty) and the Bequiet PSU (four PCI-E connectors) will be ace:)

I did use the GB mobo earlier bud ;) I have the Bequiet L8 630W unit and im very impressed with it. I remember the review saying it made it to 701W before it's gracefully shut down. The 730W unit can only be better still :)

I should have said about GBs UK based RMA and the 3 year warranty true. Although this brings us onto Beejs spec (Hey Beej) nicely.

The EVGA 670 is cheaper than Beejs choice but has a 3 year warranty. The KFA2 card only has 2 years but is clocked higher. You are paying extra for it's dual fans is the real difference but you are losing a years warranty over the EVGA.

Not knocking Beejs suggestion at all here btw, I think they are nice looking machines :)

The OP should take your first spec, or the second one with a GBT motherboard, mechanical keyboard and that PSU.

Done.

(Hey Hono!) Yeah its a tough decision between the EVGA and the KFA2, I must confess I don't know how good the stock cooler on the 670 is, but the KFA2 is a nice design and has come down in price recently. That being said EVGA are a good company and an extra years warranty is certainly very good.

I'll be honest if spending that much I wouldn't get a Shinobi, but thought I'd spec something nearer budget as an option at least :)

You made it sound like he was going to have to get finance because the price had reached a certain point. Misunderstanding i guess.

As for the mechanical keyboard debate - I prefer my apple wired keyboard to a friend's Razer Black Widow - but as with everything it's subjective.

I've only heard good things about 'Das Keyboard' though

The 670 (as stulid showed in his link) quite frankly is a much better GPU. It's a cut down 680 but they trimmed off very lil fat so to speak. The 7850 is popular because it has 2GB of VRAM and overclocks very well, the spec i did before was Xfire capable if you had wanted to add a 2nd 7850 much later on.

What is in your basket?

Total : £1,215.24 (includes shipping : £13.75).

Another good white case. The Z77 mobo does do SLI/Xfire it has THX rated onboard audio so no need for a soundcard really. If style appeals to you then you might like the gold caps and styling of the mobo.

I chose the CM 700W PSU both times to show it can Xfire two 7850s or is more than enough for any single GPU setup. It's modular and the same price as it's 600W lil bro pretty much. For £65 it ticks a lot of boxes, to SLI the 670 you are going to need a lil more power realistically.

I included a closed loop cooler as you considered one. This is a place where you can save some cash. The H-100 is considered to be the ideal closed loop cooler to use, although you could use an air cooler for around £30 and still achieve a good overclock

Not the cheapest cooler but will peform well and again it's wether you like the style/look of it

I look forward to seeing what you decide on. Any chance of a build log? With lots of pretty pics? ;)

honosuseri thanks for all the help your sending my way its much appreciated.

I was hoping to keep hold of the case just for the fact ive got a thing for having a windowed case with the Leds shining on the build. Just a bit of a show off thing i know but for the money im spending why not :)

I will be hoping to add to the build at some point ie, Custom waterloop possibly SLI / Crossfire at somepoint ect. so the Aircooler you recommended could be the way to go. (Looks Awesome by the way).

As for the Memory and MotherBoard would the Corsair Blue memory and the Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Intel Z77 motherboard not do? As cause there blue with the white air cooler would fit nicely with the white case and the neon blue fans that the case i chose came with.

Also id be more than happy to but a build blog together if people would like one :) Sorry if im being a bit of a pain for £1200 pound i just want to get everything right and what im looking for :)

The H100 is what £5 more tops? That has a 240mm rad and twin fans, you'd be crazy to get the H-80. All the cases I have suggested will take the H-100 I made sure of that

EDIT

You are very welcome :)

In regards to the price and payment options. You are not that far away from getting free delivery. 1 year and 100 posts ruling or if you can get 250 posts the P&P vanishes :) You could consider exploiting the free P&P and do the build in small installments. It sounds like faff because it is but this way you can grab parts that are on offer as the weeks go by.

i.e

Case and PSU (test PSU with paperclip test)
Then your mobo bundle (IGP there remember so you can add the GPU later. Use the stock heatsink till you do the custom loop)
Then peripherals HDD,GPU etc.

Just a thought ;) In regards to the RAM i used the patriot RAM as it looked good with the mobo and happened to be cheaper than the other brands (sorry it wasnt blue). I don't think it's low profile RAM though, so the stock heatsink would be fine and a waterblock as well. If you use aftermarket aircoolers you might find it difficult to fit over the RAM, so if you want the blue look to the RAM then the LP vengeance RAM has the looks and practicality.

Ive taken the cooler off as you plan on watercooling later on. Hopefully you like the rest of the build/look. Choose what you will over the keyboard, it was still in my basket so i used the G19

Ive added in the SSD, PSU and Aircooling fat that was recommended. Im hoping to keep the same case as ive took a big liking to it.

The H100 looks terrible in all black so cant say im a huge fan were as the aircooler would go nicely until i can find a good colored water cooled loop.

Would have prefered a white PSU but cant have everything :P Hows it all looking now.
