What are 2x 670's like compared to a single 680 for Battlefield ? / StarCraft 2 ?

Somebody I know with 2x 680's only gets 70fps in L4D2 whereas my single 680 gets 150fps.. Clearly showing there are issues with Nvidia SLI ?

Would a single 680 be better for Battlefield 3 ?

There is no (major) issues with SLI.

2 670's will nearly always be almost twice as fast as a single 680.

Erm...what now? That is...erm.....I'm lost for words....

Depending on resolution that you use might as well just stick with the 680 and get another in the future if you need it.

God knows why.

And resolution 1920x1080 and won't be going for multi-monitor setups.

*This isn't me who's thinking of getting the 2x 670's or 680 by the way, as I already have a 680.

To be perfectly honest, at that resolution a 680 is a bit of a waste, and 2 x 670s is overkill too. There's not a great deal of performance difference between the 670 and 680. If he's not concerned about money then he might as well get the 680, otherwise I'd opt for an overclocked 670, something like this for example:

It's the card I'm going to buy and I'll soon be using it on 1920x1200, and I'm really not concerned about it struggling in the slightest. For the extra £100+ you'd spend on a 680, it really doesn't seem to be worth it.

Source is a hugely CPU dependant engine. You could get huge FPS numbers in L4D2 with even a moderately decent card. Hell even my 460 gets me around 90-100FPS. L4D2 is NOT a good choice to check with!

195FPS on CF'd 5870's?

Vsync? I know it's not 60hz but my bf3 hits 60-80 with vsync on...

Main game played would be BF3 so a tleast 70fps would be great. Going for two 670s to be "future-proof".

Windforce hits 70fps+++ on ultra. Most I've seen it dip to is about 45 in very intense battles.
