Hi,

I am looking to upgrading my TV from a 26in Sony to the Sony KDL37EX723BU and basically looking to see if anyone can recommend maybe a better screen or would this one be ideal for what I need?

Basic needs are:

Max 37inch due to my wall mount
Needs to be able to take a D-Sub from my computer (No HD from comp as its an old one)
Also needs to be able to plug into my stereo with a 3.5m lead.
Currently use 2 scarts (DVD & Sky) but seems most new TVs come with just one scart?
Not fussed about 3D but obviously a plus if its there.

Budget of around £450.00.

Thanks.

I have the Sony 32 inch screen of this model & the picture quality is top class lovely sound too :) you won,t regret getting the 37 inch :)

Problem is I only have room for the 37in due to where it has to go, also the mount on my wall on fits upto 37in.

yeah good point ! i only have a small living room so anything over 32 inch would just lose the quality and must say the Sony HD t.v is the best picture quality i,ve seen :) If you get a chance grab a copy of Avatar Blu ray and look at the colours of the forest ! its jaw dropping !!

I have the 40in, and overall I'm pretty pleased with it, I believe they have different panel technologies depending on size.

The bad..
Sound is poor, you will want separate speakers or a sound bar.
2D picture quality is great but viewing angles are not fantastic
3D is apparently poor.

Whats the gaming like on it? I have a Z4500 at the mo and input lag is not detectable. Obvously most relevant to football games, fps and the like.

I've not tried, I don't play consoles anymore, but I've not heard bad things about it (3D aside).

I got the 32 inch KDL32EX723BU for £ 194.00 which is a great deal :)

A really fantastic deal IMO, I saw it for £379 in a sale last week.

The 32 inch is great in 3D and lovely 2D picture , not sure i really worry about a lot of reviews unless everyone say its bad :) i,ve seen Samsung t.v screens that are so vivid in colour ,and most reviews say there top class ! i think like most electrical item its a personnel thing :)
