12.4 + 7970 Crashing

Hello!

I've had problems with the PC shutting itself off... no warning, usually during games.

Finally seem to have fixed it, upgraded from 12.4 to 12.6 beta and all is ok!

Cheers for advice given in previous threads.

Yup, just cut out dead.

Yeah i agree,, Im on 12.4 been Never had a prob with shutting down on this driver or any others...12.4,s best drivers imo for the 7 series cards

My PC hasn't shut off since, and I leave it on 24/7 and game a lot in the evening. I never had this problem when I first bought the video card, and the 'decent' psu was fine then too.

The period of which it started exhibiting these symptoms could easily coincide with all the time I've had the 12.4 drivers installed.

If it continues to be ok, I can only assume it was the drivers - normally it would have cut out by now - but it hasn't.

I did update the bios too though! so who knows for sure...

I ctd all the time with the 12.4, but not with the 12.3, using a 7950

It might have helped if you had mentioned in your first post!!

If I were you I would roll the BIOS to the revision you were using previously as well as the video drivers. As the old saying goes, 'If ain't broke don't fix it'.
