Thought it would be nice to get a thread going of all you oldskool computer memories, be it Amiga, P.C, C64 or whatever!

I will kick things off with something from my early days. I used to love this and pump it out through an old wooden t.v connected to my Amiga :)

Not necessarily considered 'oldskool' but the fondest and earliest memories I have of my earliest PC gaming (even though I am only 17) was playing Command and Conquer Red Alert back in the late 90s. I revisited the game with the release of The First Decade and it ruined my cherished memories :\.

At least it has one of the best soundtracks for a game ever:

Lords of Midnight and Ultima 3 on my brothers C64. Both hugely complex games for their time. I can still get lost in a game of LoM today. That must have been early to mid 80's.

Ohhh the days, when PS was connected to another, and the screens facing away!!

This for me.

Can't use YouTube at work but I remember C&C Red Alert, and it's expansion pack Couterstrike(that came from a friend whose mother was living in the Philippines at the time...

But one of mine was called Aces of the Pacific, which I was allowed to play on my parents 386!

My earliest gaming memories are playing kickstart and a game called up n down on an atari.

Must have had a hundred or so games but these are all I remember.

Also I don't remember the model of the Atari, and I was really young at this point. It was a cassette type though, with the 1 hour load times.

The thing that makes me sad is that the kids of today, in 10, 15 years or whatever, will have games like Diablo 3, Crysis 2, Skyrim as their 'childhood' games...

They will never know gaming like this!

New games are better than what we played way back when.

But I get what you mean, I don't believe this generation will have as many nostalgic thoughts of Crysis 2 as I do of Kikstart.

Or playing Sonic The Hedgehog(1991 release!) for the first time on the SEGA MegaDrive on Christmas morning... and not knowing anything about 'Saves'. You played it, and played it to the end in 1 go! The only 'saves' were the annoying lamp-posts and the noise that went with them!
