***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

I've been offered one of these in white for £340 brand new, should i/shouldn't i? was looking at blue ones but not sure about the lavender home button :D

Regarding carphonewarehouse trade in, can i just walk in a store and they will just buy my S2 off me?
 
Anyone got any tips on how to set the LED brightness? Default setting is crazy bright... do I need to install a 3rd party app to do that? The option came stock on my old Motorola Droid (last phone I had that had a notification LED).

People who say it makes such a huge difference to how the screen feels are generally people who have never used one. Mine (a cheapie, 8 for £2.50) is very clear and smooth... sure not as smooth as polished naked glass, but I don't notice it now.

Try Light Flow. Gives you a lot of control over the LED. I'm not sure about brightness though.

*Looks like it's just had a UI overhaul recently too.

Cheers chap but it's only brightness im interested in... I have enough control over what I want it to do for notifications etc. Just checked the blurb for Light Flow^and I didnt see brightness mentioned. :(
 
Well Samsung now have a new man at the top who's sole aim is a much better software experience so fully expect the next incarnation of Touchwhiz to look considerably different!

Although Lightflow is excellent it's not working properly with the S3. Devs are currently working to fix the issues such as battery drain that Lightflow is causing.
 
What is gpsd? It's used over 50% of my CPU since this morning?

I did have GPS turned on but have not used it today apart from FB for like 3 seconds. I disabled GPS and rebooted my phone but it still appears to be using CPU. 1hr58mins now of usage over 7 hours of the phone being off charge?

Only thing I've installed today is that Simple Calendar widget.

Seems to work fine for me, no effect on battery drain (I installed it about 4 days ago so nothing related to the above).

I had a sp on my Nexus still the day i got it. I had to take it off after 5 months as it started to a bit tatty. And wow... My phone looks and feels so much better without. Really don't want to put the sp back on :(
 
Ok, how do I make the font smaller in the email app? It looks like its for a child or something...... Only way I can find to lower font is to set it to tiny in main settings but that makes eveything else really small whilst the email app still only gets about a dozen words to a page.
 
the mrs just picked hers up after having a mess around on my S3. But she says that her in call volume seems really low, have checked volume settings etc. Any ideas?
 
Crikey, my phone has started speaking to me. Only when I do pinch to zoom on the home screen. I can't think what I've done to turn this on and I can't find any setting to turn it off! Someone please help! The robotic voice is really embarrassing on public transport. :S

Still haven't received mine. Mobilephonesdirect quoted me this week for delivery. I guess it's worth the wait for the £26/month deal I got it on :p
