Favourite Energy drink

This.

I (used to) drink 1 can of Monster every night shift, until I started getting palpitations. Had a pretty serious scare yesterday which made me call NHS Direct and then 999. I have told myself I will never touch another energy drink or pro-plus.

Drink lucozade orange all the time but i drink it as a normal drink as it's lovely in hot weather. When i need a boost when driving or something i might grab a red bull. Not a fan of the others. None of them work as well as coffee though.

In response to magnolia i drink them generally as i like the taste. Not a lot more to it. I dont always fancy coffee so opt for red bull instead on those occassions.

For those that use these energy drinks, can I ask why you take them. Let's exclude them with alcohol to remove that element.

I'll have a redbull or 2 if driving on the motorway, especially if I'm tired (motorways always send me to sleep - fine as a passenger scary as a driver).

I do like the green juice relentless, I've tried to make my own version using the same fresh juices but can't get them all. I'd rather drink it if it didn't have the caffeine in though.

I've always found chewing gum and whacking the fans on cold helps with staying alert when driving much more than energy drinks. Not sure about the science with gum but at a guess it tricks the body into thinking you're eating?

Green Monster Energy, only one that doesn't taste like thrice strained sewer water.

Although I reserve it for when I'm really tired at work (usually only when I do the occasional 9 hour turnaround), don't do energy just because or to stay up all night playing games or any of the other **** people seem to use these things for.

Cool OP, what sports are you into that require huge amounts of sugar and caffeine?

I do a fair bit of cycling and find torq stuff to be pretty good, from a normal shop, I've had a powerade one, that seemed to do the job pretty well.

I dont use them for sport, I do cycle a lot but i just fill the camel back up with water and ice, I did try some of the tablets you can add but they tasted foul.

While it's rare that I do have an energy drink (normally if I fancy a late night gaming session at the weekend, which isn't often), first choice is either Monster Khaos or Ripper. If those aren't in stock, normal Monster or a Relentless.

I find a trip into the central reservation wakes me up too :p

Not tried chewing/eating, maybe will try, but will have a can in the glove box just in case :)
