Colorful Unveils Fanless 680!

Pointless card is pointless.

If you have the money for these, then you have the money for decent cooling. I can only see this being used in a build where evrything is passively cooled.

Yeah I agree, if they were cheaper then maybe...but since they will probably cost even more than the 'normal' cards, not including the import costs of this (haha), it is very pointless.

Talking of which, does anyone know how much they will be going for / are going for? Haven't seen a price discussed yet....

Once again I can't see the point. Is it just a concept?

If you're going full passive you'd probably have one of those massive nofan cpu coolers anyway that would not fit with this. If not, you can't fit a big cpu heatsink. Watercooling? well then why not watercool the gpu? Tight on rad space? Then you must be tight on gpu space, or have a **** case. **** case + 680? Get out.

Mind is blown.

Can someone Photoshop a fried egg onto it, it's the new Fermi replacing Kepler George Foreman case griller. It'd be good in a case with a door, pop your Rustlers 0 to tasty in 70secs burger in and hey presto, BF3 and hot food :D

Another total lack of understanding of cooling !

Have the heatpipes plug in through the vent part of the mounting bracket with a radiator running up the back of the PC.

I had several designs years ago, don't understand the attraction of leaving all the hot bits inside the case for one minute

Obviously this card was designed for Caldari Naga pilots.

I think this is totally awesome, if it works. I'm surprised the size of the cooler would be enough to cool a top end card though, even with the optional bit. The fin spacing is a lot tighter than you'd expect for passive cooling, generally a larger space is required to allow the most efficient transfer of heat from heatsink to surrounding air. I have a feeling that this would need pretty decent case airflow. I'd be tempted to install a fan on the side panel for one of these.

Like the rest of you, dont see the point in these. Cant SLi them really, too much space taken up with just the g/card (3 slot) how the hell will you fit the extra bit on... I know I couldnt, wouldnt fit. Nah, dont think so. Good on them tho for trying.
