KFA2 GTX 680 LTD OC

This card feels exactly like ASUS 670 DC2 only 670 was better. gtx 670 core 1165 mem 1800 scored 2170 i think, lets say its max OC for the 670, since you cannot OC this card its the same. massive price difference is not justified

one last thing i wanted to add. 670 only has 6x2 pin, and was able to perform on the same level.

out of 3 cards gtx 670, gtx 680 and 7970 DC2 i would buy 7970. Costs a lot less, more ram, more bus and no dynamic oc which causes lag now and again. Nvidia need to sort themselves out

I was watching a video yesterday with an Asus rep he says that the Asus DCII clock better than normal cards due to it being non-reference and he said that they bin GPU's.. even he said that 1250mhz was about the norm though so perhaps you've been a little too optimistic?

You missed the most important bit - performance in games. The 6** are superior in that respect.

max oc 7970 doesnt loose much ground to 680. Taking into account pricing 7970 actually wins. I think kfa2 uses lower grade components compared to asus, i wonder if anyone has gtx 680 top card and willing to post on here with some benches

On a side note now people have these cards has anyone tried with a 120Hz Monitor via the hdmi (From the card spec 3x HDMI 1.4a (300Mhz Transmitter for 120Hz)) as have been looking at the card for a while but have never got a straight answer i.e want to run it with 3 x Samsung S23A700D in NVIDIA Surround @ 120Hz

this won't do what you want it to... the card has a 300mhz transmitter but if your monitor doesn't have a 300mhz reciever it still won't do 120hz refresh / 3D

as far as I know, no consumer monitor / TV currently has a 300mhz HDMI receiver

Seems a very strange then to have 3 mini-hdmi outputs then and no Dual-Link DVI's outputs, leaving only the display port for 120Hz on one monitor if non of todays current monitors have 300Hz HDMI recievers.

what do you want doing? and it may take a while to do them

Looking at some Heaven 3 benchmarks with 670's and comparing them to my new KFA2 limited edition, they are out performing mine on an OC with similar rigs as mine (CPU). I'm not one for benchmarking these days as it's just like sitting there benchmarking whilst making yourself a party hat for when you beat someone's score. Whoope..

Point being, the price performance (OC) comparison and details listed by KFA (as CivilDrone outlined in his previous post) doesn't bode well after purchasing this card.

I'm too fat and lazy to RMA the card under DSR, It's quiet and mine has a boost of 1280 which is by all means higher than stock 680's, but some stock 680's still OC pretty well.

As Paul said, sometimes you just gotta roll the dice.

If you already found your max OC do you mind posting benches of unigine with settings in the unigine thread? 1920x1080 please
Could you do both stock clocks and max oc please?

I've already posted in that with Sli setup ,both cards went to 1300 plus.
Page 27 for those results.
Didn't try with a single card but i'd imagine will be higher, will try to post later in the Unigine thread

your single card will demolish kfa2 even though yours has 8+6, cheaper and dual fan. KFA2 is a joke

Msi lightnings are now up for pre-order! Stock coming soon!!! :D

The boost clock however is still only 1167MHz, was hoping MSI would have aimed for 1300MHz.

Does the voltage control work and what is the Max voltage you can give these cards please?

If thats for me?
max shows 11.75 in afterburner but just over 12 in Gpuz
According to some reviews it does go just over 12 the highest i've seen is 12.17 which is in my sli unigine post.

You should remember that you do get better performance from these cards by oc'ing the memory than the core IMO...
Mine may go over 1300 but the performance drops,i'm getting better results with a core +25(1275ish) and mem at +425
even though my mem also goes higher and will bench higher.
Ultimately its how it performs in games where it matters most

I may be wrong but its finding the best results with each card as without a doubt this series no card is alike.

Other ppl have been at this longer than me who will know more,so I wouldn't be too down on the card as long as theres plenty headroom with the memory oc'ing.

If i've got this wrong someone will be along shortly to correct me as still figuring things out myself.
