Fitted new rear fk lowering springs, did the fronts ages ago but the rears weren't for my model of car and as such were too short for when the car was jacked up, they would errm fall out, i knew this when i fitted them but wanted it low, but it won't pass the mot that way so decided to fit the new ones..
Removed my roof rack and cycle carrier from the car ready for the drive up to Gatwick on Sunday.
This helped confirmed that it was definitely the addition of the roof rack causing my fuel economy to drop by at least 5mpg. Made a mental note to not leave it on the car for so long next time
3 hour round trip to buy an undamaged front splitter from another owner. On the way home, having not driven it for a while, sunroof open, giving it some beans on the motorway slip road I realised exactly while I love the damn thing. The most fun car I've owned and nearly the cheapest one of the best sounding too.
Replaced my old aerial with a new one and also replaced the earth strap from the engine to the bulkhead, apparently the factory fitted one has a habit of rusting through on puma's
It is currently having new front brake pads fitted and they are also checking out the rust band on the outside of one of the rear discs, which I posted about last week. Hope the rear pads/discs aren't screwed, trying to save money atm and the rear pads are only a few months old!
I had this too! Except the guy who did it to me was also on the bloody phone at the same time and I had to emergency stop. When I made the universal "PUT THE PHONE DOWN!" gesture he looked like he was going to go mental and slowed down loads and looked like he was going to stop and get out. If only he did - would have been hilarious.
Drove it out parking space, heard horrible noise, remembered mechanic saying "look out for your wheel bearings becoming nobbly in 6-12 months", drove it back into space.
Mechanic didn't do the brake pads in the end. Left the car there for nearly 2 hours and went into town and when i came back i was told "oh yeh, couldn't find the locking wheel nut key" (even though i told him it was in the boot before i left it and even offered to get it out for him - he told me not to worry and he'd find it). "Yeh, it's a bit late now, can't do it now, we close in an hour". Thanks for nothing
Ended up doing it myself today! I guess i saved myself £30!
