I got mine yesterday and its by far the best phone i've ever had!, got mine on 3 2000 mins 5000 texts unlimited data £34 a month no upfront cost.

When i was in the store they even through in a pack of screen protectors and a case worth £30 free :D
 
Anyone using Nova Launcher, have you noticed it redrawing quite a lot? Wasn't a problem on my S2 AOKP.. Nova doesn't have an option to keep it in memory.
 
Install launcher redraw fix. It's Samsung's doing, launcher apps are given lowest prioroty by default. The fix puts it to value 1 (or 0, I forge).
 
If i do a data back up on my s3 using kies,will that back up transfer ok to a new s3 ? im sending my handset back due to a screen fault but dont really want to faff around setting it all up from scratch again

This wallpaper business is driving me crazy. It's been the same on all the Android phones I've owned. Why the heck does it zoom in when set as your desktop wallpaper. I crop it correctly in Gallery>Set as wallpaper and yet it still zooms in. WTF!

What I mean:

Tried to apply the fix to prevent the redraws, but the website said my services.jar file was already modified.

Is there another way around this?

Try an app called Wallpaper Wizardry. Lets you choose the wallpaper layout.
 
Has anyone got the following games working:

Mass Effect Infiltrator
Dead Space
Modern Combat 3

They are showing as not compatible on my S3. Any way around this?

I got mass effect working by buying it through bluestacks (an android emulator for a pc) and then using winimage.exe to extract the .apk from the bluestacks data. I would imagine the same could be done for the others listed as well.

I purchased all 3 at some stage through play store on my Galaxy Note or maybe even before that on my S2. They are all there as 'purchased' in my list of apps but show as incompatible. If I just download the 'pirated' .apk files on my PC and install them, will they still update as normal since they were paid for?

I'd like the answer to this too. I'm getting a replacement sent out from Amazon due to a screen fault.
 
Mine doesn't seem to want to charge from the mains. Its plugged into a PS3 now and then charging fine but tried 4 different charger and usb cable combinations and it just won't charge? This is the second time it's happened.

afaik, keys doesn't back up everything. just contacts etc. you'll still have to install apps etc again.

root, titanium backup (or backup the rom) and then install that rom backup onto the new phone

Fixed the above. I backed up each game using Titanium Backup on my Note, then copied the .apk file over to the S3 and installed. They all show as installed in play store, they are all working perfectly even though they still show as incompatible.

Anyone got Sky Go working on the S3?
