Anyone know of a util to disable zip file support in the left hand side of windows explorer.

I don't see the point in .zip files being listed there if you have winrar.

I know I can do it via registry but want to also help someone whos not computer savvy so a util would be good.

Strange, I have 7zip installed with associations and no Windows Explorer expandable archived folders appear. They just appear as 7zip files.
That's weird - I also have .zip files associated with 7-zip, but they still appear as "folders" in the left-hand tree view in Explorer (albeit with 7-zip's small "z" overlay), and clicking on them displays the contents in the right-hand pane.

It doesn't particularly bother me one way or the other to be honest, but it's odd that the behaviour doesn't seem to be consistent.

Yeah thanks guys I knew about the method on sevenforums on win 7.. We'll just have to do it manually and take control of the registry keys.
