A special rental

Seriously though, how low are your expectations when you aspire to rent a BMW 520.

As Fox says above, "prestige" rental is rarely ever worth it.

I own a Toyota Yaris, so a 520 would be much better in all areas.

As I said previously I would like to rent a coupe, I think more so than a saloon. I fancy driving around Northern Wales for a few days, so would appreciate a better motor than mine to enjoy it in.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Would you be interested in a classic car rental? Arguably more 'fun' and definitely something different! :)

I rented a 1966 Ford Mustang fastback for the day I proposed to my (now) wife. :)

The trouble is that you are going to pay a disproportionately large amount of money for something which just wont be worth it.

As an example lets rent a car from Manchester Airport for 3 days with Avis Prestige. Next month, for a trip to Wales.

The cheapest Coupe is a 2 litre Audi A5 for £270. I dont know about you but that seems like a lot of money to rent something like that.

For the same money you could get a cheap flight to Munich and borrow a 335i for the day from BMW On Demand! Prestige rental in the UK is just a ripoff.

You will not be able to appreciate a rental and enjoy it more than a car you own and, more importantly, KNOW.

I hired a 3 series for a month in South Africa (£500) and it did the job fine but as far as a driving enjoyment was concerned I would have preferred my own car.

I rented a 2008 Porsche 997 Gen 1 Turbo for £499 for Friday 10am -> Monday 10am over a bank holiday weekend in May. That was a Groupon special though. Had the choice of the 911, Bentley GTC and an AM V8V Roadster. I thought it wasn't too bad for the experience (I'm 26, think the limit was 25).

It you keep your eyes pealed then offers are available.

Use your own car and use the money to stay in better accomodation/go to better restaurants in Wales.

That is something to consider thankyou, but the whole point of this weekend is to drive something special, I love cars so just going away in my car wouldn't feel as special.

That is fair enough but from your sig you own a S2000 not a Yaris, so that isn't really the same :)

Was looking at the following

It has the pace to keep me interested for a few days, what is motors opinion on this? Anything else for a similar price you would rather have?

£450 to rent a Vauxhall for a week. Lol.

As mentioned imagine the accommodation upgrade you could get for a few hundred quid over a couple of days. Do that and use your own car.
