Here until Thuraday with work.

Anything I should be doing apart from the obvious wander about and petronas towers. Staying right next to the towers.

Check out Times Square shopping Centre, I was amazed by it! The theme park looked worth a go as well but we never got round to it.

A trip up the Kuala Lumper Tower was good as well, much better views than the Petronas Towers and I believe the viewing platform is higher.

Food, food, FOOD! Eat at hawker centres, eat outdoors where they serve cold beer, eat fresh and eat everything. Avoid anything food you can get in the west.

Ask the cabbie to bring you to 'Ang Pang Liong Dao Hu' (Arng-pa-arng Lee-on-gg da-ow who) - About 15mins from KL central and that food centre serves tasty liong dao hu (veg with meat dish served in delicious sauces, boiled or steamed)

Otherwise, there's plenty of shopping landmarks you'll not miss when you jump on their train.

For shopping the Petronas Towers mall is pretty much UK shops and prices, there is a huge really cheap mall about 10 mins from the centre towards Petaling Jaya but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called lol. As mentioned China Town on the evening is worth a visit!

The huge mall you mention is probably Mid Valley Megamall - you can take a taxi from KLCC, or take KTM from KL Sentral to Midvalley (only 1 stop!) lots of other big malls for shopping : The Curve / Ikano / Ikea (Damansara Perdana, can get shuttle bus from Kelana Jaya LRT station), Paradigm Mall (Kelana Jaya, new mall, never been ..), Empire Subang (Subang Jaya KTM station)

If you're not into shopping , going around and trying all the food is a good idea - lots of choice of cheap and tasty food , maybe visit KL Bird Park if that interests you .

For nightlife you can go to Changkat Bukit Bintang , not too far from KLCC either, lots of bars there :). I've never actually been to Zouk despite staying here for over 2 years :o

Oh and about the shopping prices, most things are quite similarly priced - but there's no VAT on most goods here, this is why Apple things do work out around 20% cheaper than the UK ! If you want to look for any computer related stuff, check out Lowyat Plaza (Imbi Monorail, opposite Times Square)

Cool cheers. Just been in low yat, crazy amount of sellers but I don't really need anything

16gb iPad is £302 from mac studio so thats pretty tempting

Yeah, online shopping in Malaysia isn't very developed yet - so most would go to Lowyat or similar to buy all their IT bits - at least lots of sellers in one mall of the same thing creates some competition , prices would probably be quite a bit higher otherwise :D

Ha yeah I can imagine there is a lot of bartering fun to be had. Is the mega mall worth the trek or is there somewhere closer for just looking around. Currently in Starbucks in times square

Hmm, well its just a big shopping mall really .. you can have a look at the website to see what shops they have : http://www.midvalley.com.my/ , you can get a taxi from Times Square, at least there you have coupon system and won't get ripped off by the driver :) Probably cost RM15-20 from memory, haven't taken a taxi from there to Midvalley for quite a while! If you don't want do to shopping and look for food, can go to Jalan Alor - quite popular place among tourists with lots of stalls for local food. China town is good for fakes if you like buying that kind of thing, personally I don't so have only been there a couple of times !

I suggest a visit to Lot 10 if you are into you're into electronics / gadgets. It's about a 15 min walk or you can catch the monorail.

If you want to do some sight seeing, then the Batu Caves are worth a visit (take some monkey nuts), the zoo isn't far from there either.

Have a look around KLCC and see what the current exhibition is.

Get out to Cameron Highlands and have 'high tea' - the climate up there is just like home and makes a nice change. There is a beautiful butterfly farm half way up. Keep away from the strawberries they really are nasty.

Malaysia is no cheaper than Europe these days, the weak pound against a stong Ringgit has put pay to that. I remember the days when it was $9.50 MYR to the £1 and now it's barely $4.50 MYR. So what I'm saying is be careful on your electronic purchases.
