I don't think many here are wishing death on him, just clearly stating that that is the law in that particular country

By saying it is acceptable to kill a person for essentially a very minor crime is beyond stupid.

Predictably, the druggies are all in here saying it's silly to kill someone for selling a plant. Hah. Not quite that simple.
I don't take drugs. But you know it's way unproportional a sentence.
An OTT penalty but I find myself pondering two things. Firstly how British is this person? Rarely find that it's someone born in the UK when they're facing this sort of thing. Secondly why do we care? Seriously if you go to another country you have to face it's penalties for breaking the law there.
If you're stupid enough to try that sort of thing in the UAE you don't really deserve a huge amount of sympathy. Harsh but it's unlikely he'll be executed anyway.

The people are very friendly, the weather is great, there are loads of things to do. I really liked Abu Dhabi. Dubai? Not so much, but Abu Dhabi was cool when I was there.

He sold hardly anything though, you wouldn't even get charged in the UK for that. Well maybe you would but it's still not much.
That depends how you look at it. Selling drugs can destroy many lives as a knock on effect.
The point is that the guy must be literally retarded to have taken such a risk.
That said, I doubt he'll get the death penalty.
He's not in the UK, doesn't matter what we think of the penalty as he's not here.

By agreeing with such backwards laws you are agreeing it is ok to execute a nineteen year old. Whilst wishing was a little strong complacency isn't far off being as bad.
It's the 21st Century, killing people in the name if justice is stupid. Killing somebody for such a simple misdemeanor is insanely stupid. Saying this is ok because it is the local law...
