I would like to know this as well^

What are the advantages of any of these roms? Do they just change the look of the phone and thats it?

You can do more than changing the appearance few examples:

Adblock
Full backups with titanium backup
sixaxis support (so you can use ps3 controllers for games!)
Root explorer - so you can permanently delete apps & other such things instead of just disabling them
chainfire 3d - allows you to install nvidia drivers & other drivers for games that might not be supported on your device. (sometimes not all games will work though!)

There is loads more reasons to root. That I can't think of at the moment :p

But yes the main reason for rooting could be to change the appearance.

does ICS not natively support the ps3 controller?
 
Been rooted for the past few days and so far so good.

Anyone else finding teh default volume a bit too low??

Is there a hack/mod that i can flash to my phone and boost the volume more??

If so can someone link to it preferably with an idiots guide on how to install the hack:p
 
Ah, just the menus and menu icons look ICS stock compared to the ICS theme I have at the moment.

Was that on top of omega 6.0? Any problems with it? Was reading the thread and some people said there's going to be problems with the power menu.

edit: Just tried for myself, holding the power button causes it to crash. Nandroided back :p

I had no issue with it... not sure why others are :confused:
 
Will this be possible soon?

A basic version of ICS but with the Smart Stay feature and maybe a few other additions? Or will Devs always just stick to plain ICS?

Cheers mate, so all i do is copy the zip file to my internal storage then open up CWM and use the flash zip utility?? Or do i need to copy the file over to my external storage ie my 32gb sd card??.

EDIT: Corr blimey:eek:, just installed the audio hack, wow thats just made my music stupidly loud lol. Although good thing is that i dont have to crank my volume up to hear my music over the noise of a tube journey. Bloody loud hack though:eek:
