Hi all,

After my 5770 died I'm in the market for a new card.

Been looking at the 7770 purely because of price, if I was going to get one of them I will probably crossfire when I upgrade my system in a few months.

However I have also looked at the 7850 which I would have to run on its own.

I mainly FPS and have 2 1080p displays.

Cheers,

Tom

buy the 7850, xfire 2 low end cards is not the wisest of choices (imo) and leaves no room for an upgrade path later on

Ta, what's a non reference cooler? Sorry GPUs aren't my forte

A reference design is like a blueprint the graphics chip manufacturer (like AMD or NVIDIA) provides to their customers, i.e., the companies that manufacture and sell graphics cards. The reference design is a tested design which the graphics chipset manufacturer encourages the graphics board assembly companies to use. Most do, because it's the easiest and most cost effective way for them to produce a reliable product.
A non reference cooler may be larger/more efficient/have more or bigger fans, allowing the graphics card to oc better

Thanks guys.

And I've seen a Sapphire 7850 OC edition kicking about on the web.

Would you recommend this version (920MHz and 5000MHz) or the original sapphire running at (860MHz and 4800MHz). Both speeds are out of the box.

Worth it for an extra tenner?

Last question.... Honest.
