I've had this a number of times and it's the most painful thing I've ever experienced, on rare occasions when I stretch at point my toes on my left leg my entire calf muscle moves round to the front of my shin. My foot is still facing the right way which is why I think it's the calf muscle shifting. My wife has seen it and I've told her to take a photo next time it happens, and I think it's going to happen again soon.

Is this cramp and anyone else had the same ?

You have your tibialis anterior muscle at the front of your shin, it's more than likely you're getting cramp there which is making it more defined. Your calf muscle can't just detach and move around ¬_¬

This. The cramp probably causes a moving contraction that makes it look like the muscle is moving. Get doing some stretching
