It wasn't a good show by Ms Smith but I can't help feeling a bit sorry for her given that she's essentially been used as a human shield by the chancellor, who should have had the courage to go out there and defend his u-turn. Apparently George Osborne's nickname in Parliament is The Submarine, because he only surfaces when it's safe.
