*** PC Gaming - Daily Deals Thread ***

Yes i posted it earlier in this thread, well worth £5, pc version is a lot better.

I just started playing this yesterday, took me an age to sort the controls out for a PS3 controller.

I think it might be easier one day to buy a Xbox controller, all games have that gamepad setup pre-configured.

AVP worth getting @ £2.99? never played before

Depends how much you enjoy the Alien movies imo.

If you you get tense during impending alien attacks in the Alien movies, then £3 just to play the Marine level gets you the motion tracker, gun sound effects, and of course the Aliens screaming and crawling about everywhere.

Even if you just play the marine level for one night, £3 is a bargain for a fright playing in total darkness with the sound turned right up.

Interested in the LA Noire deal, but thinking about getting it with all DLC and the guide for about a tenner, but i was wondering how would the guide work in steam, would it sit in my library? or would there be a seporate section for the guide?

I downloaded a program called Motioninjoy (something like that) and I plug in the PS3 controller, but tell the program it is a 360 one :P Not sure if you can do the same thing.

Controls were always fine for me.

Yeah I have Motioninjoy and have made sure all the buttons are assigned in that correctly. However the game itself has presets but they all relate to Xbox buttons.

Are there the same amount of buttons on the 360 controller as they are on the PS3.

I didn't think to try to tell MIJ it's a 360. Will try that tonight, cheers.

For those wanting to use their PS3 controller wirelessly with MotioninJoy, the rainforest sells some micro bluetooth adapters for like £1 that work pretty well once you pair the MAC address of the controller with your PC. Got mine set up recently and it's great not having to fiddle with the wires anymore :D though it does mean you have to reset the controller everytime you want to use it on the PS3 as it autoconnects to the PC (but since it's just a button you press on the back with a pin, it's not too bad).

its similar i guess, a lot of driving around and jazzy cutscenes make it appear more like a movie. theres not a continuous storyline really though as it goes case by case as you solve it you go to the next etc.

If there is no real story to the game, then i will pass on it. Thanks you saved me a fiver. :p

Can you not connect it, and it will auto connect to PS3?

Couldn't resist LA Noire at this price :p. I bought AvP for £3.74 last year and I enjoyed it to be honest, not bad for what is essentially the price of a pint.

I tried connecting it to the PS3 via USB after I'd paired it to my PC, but that doesn't seem to reset what it's associated to. I panicked for a moment the first time as pressing the PS button on the controller just activated it on my PC as opposed to autoconnecting to the PS3 like it usually does.

There is though! there's a whole main story line that you dip in and out of as you go through other cases. It's well worth a fiver of anyone's money.
